'Excited' - Sheffield Wednesday player ratings from defeat against Bradford City

Sheffield Wednesday suffered their first defeat of the season after they were edged out 1-0 by Bradford City in a Yorkshire derby.

In an electric atmosphere in front of 33,000 at Hillsborough, The Owls made a fast start and had chances through Barry Bannan, Jamal Lowe, Louie Barry, Liam Cooper and Callum Slattery throughout the half but could not find the breakthrough.

They paid the price early in the second-half when Aden Baldwin lashed in from close-range from a corner as Bradford stopped Wednesday’s flow and had the better of the second-half, although Slattery had a huge chance to equalise but got his feet in a tangle. And the hosts had a huge chance at the death but squandered it as they fell to a disappointing loss to start the league campaign.
