Florida State baseball's star first baseman Myles Bailey suffered a significant injury against Duke in game two of the series. Bailey's right leg was put into an air cast and he was carted off the field in the bottom of the eighth inning. After a slide into second base, Bailey was unable to get up. He was quickly attended to by the medical staff and ultimately left the stadium in an ambulance.

Bailey is a draft-eligible sophomore due to age. He is a top-100 ranked draft prospect. In the sixth inning, Bailey hit his 13th home run of the season. It was a no-doubt, two-run homer that tied the game at seven.

As a freshman, Bailey hit .327 with 19 homers in 202 at-bats. Through 25 games this season, he was hitting .351 with 17 extra-base hits. His 13 home runs led FSU. He also had drawn 32 walks for a .569 OBP. He had been intentionally walked twice in the second game of the series.
