RANGERS co-owner Jed York was arrested at a trailer park in the US after reportedly paying ÂŁ100 for sex through a prostitution website.

The dad-of-two, 46, who recently filed for a divorce from wife Danielle after 15 years of marriage, was nicked on Sunday at the Wheat Hill Mobile Home Community in East Palestine, Ohio.

Cops say the San Francisco 49ers supremo had arranged to meet with a woman before being stopped by human trafficking task force agents.

Officers in the village were assisting the Mahoning Valley Human Trafficking Task Force when they arrested the Rangers co-owner.

He was then locked up at the Columbiana County Jail before appearing in court.

The US Sun reported that York allegedly contacted a woman through a prostitution website and agreed to pay $140, which is around ÂŁ102, in exchange for sexual activity, according to court documents.

It comes after TMZ reported York filed for divorce from wife Danielle about three months ago.

He filed divorce papers at Santa Clara Superior Court in May, ending a marriage that had lasted more than 15 years.

He cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split.

The couple reportedly agreed to share joint legal and physical custody of their two children, ages 13 and 10.

The mega-rich sports team tycoon – who is also the principal owner of the San Francisco 49ers – was pictured in an orange jumpsuit in a mugshot.

He pleaded no contest to the charges against him while appearing in court.

Court documents say prosecutors amended the original charge of engaging in prostitution to disorderly conduct before York entered his plea.

He was also convicted of possessing criminal tools.

York was sentenced to one day in jail for each count, with the sentences served concurrently.

The Niners owner also reportedly posted a $5,000 bond.

He was also ordered to pay a $150 fine for the disorderly conduct conviction and a $1,000 fine for possessing criminal tools.

Court records show both fines have been paid.

York was a key player in the 49ers takeover of Rangers last year.

49ers Enterprises, the investment wing of the NFL giants, bought 51 per cent of the Ibrox side in a multi-million pound takeover after months of crucial talks.

York is a lead man in the investment side of the business – that also owns Leeds Utd – and was even named on Rangers’ website after the megabucks deal confirming Andrew Cavenagh as chairman and 49ers Enterprises chief Paraag Marathe as vice chair.

York has also been pictured in the stands at several Light Blues’ matches following the takeover.

He was even pictured at a SPFL Old Firm clash on May 10 this year, which saw the Celtic defeat Rangers 3-1.

Last August he also attended the first Old Firm match of the season, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
