Red Rum trainer's grandson Toby McCain-Mitchell out to add to family legacy at Aintree
Toby McCain-Mitchell is out to add to his family's legacy in the Randox Grand National when he makes his debut in the world's greatest steeplechase on Top Of The Bill at Aintree Racecourse on Saturday.
McCain-Mitchell is the grandson of the late Ginger McCain, who wrote his name large in Grand National history with the three successes of the legendary Red Rum in the 1970s and then his record-equalling fourth victory with Amberleigh House in 2004.
McCain-Mitchell's uncle Donald McCain Junior, who was assistant trainer to his father in that fourth success, grabbed his own slice of Aintree glory when sending out Ballabriggs, under Jason Maguire, to triumph in 2011 after he had taken over the licence at the family's Bankhouse Stables in Cheshire.
Although the 24-year-old McCain-Mitchell wasn't around for many of those early successes when the McCain stable was based at the back of a used car showroom in Birkdale, he has been brought up on stories that built the family Aintree legacy. And now he will look to add to it when he partners the Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies-trained Top Of The Bill on Saturday.
How to get to O Beach Ibiza
O Beach Ibiza, owned by Wayne Lineker, will make its Aintree Racecourse debut at this year's Grand National. Across the full three-day meeting, O Beach will be based in Aintree’s Festival Zone, close to the Red Rum Garden, creating an “elevated social hub designed to keep the atmosphere moving from the first arrivals to the final races”.

Getting ready for Ladies Day
We've spent the morning at a beauty salon in Walton as people get ready for Ladies Day.
The ladies are going all out for the big day.
Olivia Dobson, 21, from Hull (pictured on her own) has been up since 4am for her hair appointment before getting her makeup professionally done. Here she is in full glam before 7am.
She said: “It was coffee and leave then try to get an Uber. The driver said he was fully pre booked all morning. It’s my First Ladies Day. Seeing it all last year on everyone’s stories it looked so good. Me and my friends said we need to go next year.”

Weather forecast for Ladies Day
Everyone going to Aintree will want to know what the weather will be like today.
I am currently looking at the Met Office site at today's hourly forecast.
The good news is that most of today will be dry, but there is a 50% chance of some light rain at around 3pm. That drops to 30% at 4pm.
Temperatures are expected to reach 12°, with the Met Office saying it will feel like 9°, so my advice would be to take a coat or jacket.
