Joe Pyfer secured the biggest win of his career to date on Saturday night.

At the Climate Pledge Arena on March 28, Pyfer stopped Israel Adesanya in the main event to likely earn a huge climb up the middleweight rankings.

Adesanya has no plans to retire after suffering his fourth consecutive loss while still impressing a lot of people before he was stopped in the second round.

In the aftermath of the headliner, the American revealed how he was able to set a trap for his opponent, which led to the finish.

Who should Israel Adesanya fight next?

'The Last Stylebender' refused to retire after suffering his fourth straight loss at UFC Seattle.

Joe Pyfer says he lured Israel Adesanya into a trap by acting more hurt than he was

Ahead of fight night, Israel Adesanya said this matchup reminded him of his Alex Pereira rematch, where he won back the middleweight title while his back was against the wall.

The defining moment in this clash saw ‘The Last Stylebender’ cover up after being hit with a low kick, which then set him up to counter an aggressive ‘Poatan’, who was looking for the finish.

Joe Pyfer revealed after his huge win over Adesanya that he used a similar approach to turn the tide when asked if he was surprised by his opponent exchanging with him.

“No because I gave him a look of kind of, ‘Ooh, that calf kick really hurt.’ It was kind of like intentional but unintentional because the second I saw he smelled blood in the water, he thought he smelled blood in the water, I was like, alright, let him come to me because I’m trying to get to him and he’s moving, moving, moving,” he told Full Send MMA.

“The second I was like alright, I’m tired of chasing him and he calf kicked me, he started coming towards me and I was like alright, I’mma just let it go.”

Which performance left you the most impressed?🔥

There were some tremendous performances in Seattle with 9 finishes in total and all main card fights ending in the distance!

It’s well known that Pyfer has dangerous power in his hands but he was always going to be at a disadvantage in a technical striking clash with Adesanya.

The American was able to capitalize once the fight became more chaotic, whether he intentionally caused this or not.
