Rangers and Celtic have been handed a Sunday lunchtime showdown at Ibrox after the Premier Sports Cup quarter-final schedule was confirmed.
The Old Firm rivals were paired together in the last eight of the competition following the Light Blues' dominant 5-1 victory over St Mirren on Sunday, which gave manager Derek McInnes his first win since taking charge of the club.
Celtic had already secured their quarter-final place 24 hours earlier with a convincing 4-0 win against Dundee United at Tannadice. And supporters now have confirmation of when the most eagerly anticipated tie of the round will take place.
Rangers will host Celtic on Sunday, September 13, with the match getting underway at 12 noon and will be broadcast live on Premier Sports.
The fixture will be the latest meeting between the Glasgow rivals in Govan, with their previous encounter coming in the Scottish Cup. That clash was notable for the return of a sizeable away support in the Broomloan Road Stand, with Scottish Cup regulations allowing visiting teams to receive up to 20 per cent of the stadium's capacity.
Those rules do not apply to the League Cup, meaning Celtic will not be entitled to the same 7,500 allocation for their upcoming trip across the city.
The other three quarter-final fixtures have also been scheduled, with Stenhousemuir's shock win over Motherwell earning them a home meeting with Hearts. That tie will open the quarter-final weekend on Friday, September 11, with a 7.45pm kick-off and live coverage on Premier Sports.
Ross County will then welcome Hibs on Saturday afternoon after defeating Dunfermline Athletic to reach the last eight. The match kicks off at 3pm and will be shown on the Premier Sports Player.
Kilmarnock's meeting with Aberdeen follows later that day, with the Rugby Park clash scheduled for a 5.45pm start. And the quarter-final line-up will then conclude with the eagerly anticipated Rangers vs Celtic encounter at Ibrox on Sunday.
